Most of the time prices stay the same, but we know that's not always the case! You can adjust the price of the product right on the order line (or change the price list all together) but you can also discount the order as a whole to demonstrate the savings for your customer.
This feature will allow you to:
-
Make after tax adjustments on orders (typically used for comping orders 100%)
-
Discount the pre-tax amount of each line while still applying deposits
How to Adjust the Order Total
-
Create your order as your normally would (a refresher on "How to Create an Order" can be found here).
-
Select Adjust Order, which can be found under the three dots on the top right hand corner of the order.
-
A pop-up will present you with two options:
AFTER-TAX ADJUSTMENT: This can be used to adjust the price of the invoice by any amount (up or down), after the tax has been calculated.
To adjust the order up, indicate by how much (i.e. if you would like to adjust the invoice to add an extra $50.00 to the amount due, write "50.00"). To adjust the order down (discount an amount), include a minus sign in your entry (ie. if you would like to adjust the invoice to lower the amount due by $50.00, write "-50.00"
If you would like to promo the order in full, use this option and enter a minus sign followed by the total sum of the invoice. This action will remove the subtotal, taxes and deposit making the amount due $0.00. If the amount due is $0.00 it will also change the order status to PAID (as there is no outstanding amount due).
DISCOUNT PERCENT: This can be used to create a percent discount before the tax has been calculated.
Once you have entered a discount amount, select Save.
You will see the adjusted price reflected accordingly on the invoice:

How to Promo & Discount an Order - FAQ
What stages of an order can I adjust the price in?
You can adjust the price within an order within any status from Draft to Delivered. The only status you can not adjust the price in, is when the order is in Posted Status. To adjust the price once an order has been posted, you will need to Unpost the Order.
If I want to promo and order in full which adjustment should I use?
You should use the After-Tax Adjustment option and apply an adjustment equal to the full price of the order (including the product subtotal, taxes and deposit)
What if I want to change the price of the product and not have it appear as a discount?
You can change the price on the line and this will not appear as a discount. The subtotal will be based on the price reflected on the product line.
Why does the order appear as PAID if payment has not been applied?
If an order is promo'd in full and there is no amount owning, the order will automatically change to PAID status.
Are there are restrictions to the amount an order can be discounted?
No, you can discount any dollar amount or percentage amount up to the value of the product in full.
