Destroy takes liquid off the books as a destruction — inventory loss, no excise. The remainder (if any) keeps identity, age, and cost. This is the destruction record federal rules require, not a tank adjustment labeled "dump."
Spirit Lot → Destroy. Disabled if the lot is quarantined, or if it is in a barrel ("Dump the barrel first…").
How to record
- Banner: This liquid is going down the drain.
- Destruction date.
- How much is being destroyed? Volume, Weight, or PG/LAA — the whole lot is pre-filled. Reduce the amount to destroy only part.
- Why is it being destroyed? (required free text).
- Record Destruction.
Whole destroy depletes the lot. History delete: quantities and cost return to the lot.
Wash (not yet spirits): on the fermentation run, Destroy Wash — gallons only; nothing reports to TTB.
Pro Tip: Heads you collected into a tank and will not redistill are a destroy on that lot, not a missing still-run dump control.
