Tax Rate Management
Pain Points:
- Tax Rate Customization: Currently Ollie doesn't give me a way to handle all the edge cases where taxes may be applied to my business. Sometimes taxes can be applied at the State, County, and City levels. Sometimes taxes are applied to some container types and not others. In Hawaii, different islands have different tax rates... I need a way to customize the tax rates that apply to my business.
If you currently do not have Tax Management set up in your Ollie Order account and are interested in it, please reach out to Support.
Changes:
1. Ability to create Tax Categories
Ability to add as many Tax Categories as you'd like
Categories are the highest level of grouping for taxes: i.e.
- In the US → NC Sales Tax, PA Sales Tax
- In Canada → GST, PST, etc.
Ability to add products to a Tax Category
2. Ability to create Tax Zones
Ability to add as many Tax Zones as you'd like
Zones are typically tied to a region or grouping of customers:
- Cobb County, GA
- Dekalb County, GA
- GA Wholesalers
Ability to add customers to a Tax Zone
3. Ability to create Tax Rates
Ability to set multiple Tax Zones for a Tax Rate
Tax Rates automatically apply to products within a Tax Category being sold to a customer within a Tax Zone. i.e.
- Tax Category: North Carolina Sales Tax
- Tax Zone: North Carolina
- Tax Rate: 7%
NOTE: You can only choose one Tax Category for a Tax Zone
4. Ability to sync and report taxes to Quickbooks Online
NOTE: Once your Tax Rates are set up, go to your QBO Integrations page and map your Tax Rates to your Taxes in QBO (Canada Only)
