Barrel Fill draws a source lot into new barrels (and can refill used shells by permanent number). Each new barrel is its own Storage lot, a permanent barrel number, and the wood cost. Confirm what remains in the source tank so a gain or loss books on the fill.
Start: production toolbar Barrel Fill (Dashboard or Spirit Lots; barrels must be on), or the lot's Barrels tab → Fill Barrels.
How to record a fill
- Fill date (required).
- Source spirit lot.
- Entry proof (or ABV).
- Per type: Barrel type, Number of barrels, Fill volume per barrel. Add barrel type for more rows. New fills mint numbers from Barrel Numbering in Spirits Settings — you do not type the number.
- If used shells exist: Barrels to refill — pick by barrel number. Refill keeps that number and does not charge wood again.
- How much is left? Volume, Weight, or Proof gallons / LAA. Confirm the source tank after the fill. Leave blank to trust the book. This is where leftover in the source tank is handled — not a partial dump.
- Expected aging duration (optional) — a plan you can edit later on Spirit Barrels. It is not the age claim.
- Record Barrel Fill.
Hard stop with no new stock: "You have no new barrels in stock. Receive new barrels on a purchase order before filling." Toast: "Barrel fill recorded — {n} barrels filled."
Undo
On the fill show: ⋮ Delete Barrel Fill. Confirm: barrels are emptied and disabled, new-barrel stock returns, spirits and cost return to the source lot as offsetting records. Blocked if anything happened after the fill.
