Age that a label may claim accrues only in oak. Fill (or a filled receive with a fill date) opens the window. Dump closes it. Refill opens a new window on the frozen base. Blank means no age claim — never treat blank as zero years.
Where you see it
- Spirit Lots list and lot header: Age (words like 2y 4m 12d, or —).
- In Bond on the lot: Age at Receipt (documented age you typed on receive).
- Receive: barrels require Fill date. Bulk can take Documented age (optional). Totes/buckets/drums: Age (optional).
- Lot header when there is a fill date: Lot Date Identifier (federal mark format, e.g. 02A02).
- Spirit Barrels: Total Age, In This Barrel, Cask Age (with us), Age / Gal (Days), Expected Duration, Due, Filled.
- Packaging: finished-goods provenance can read Packaged {date} · aged {…} when a claim exists. There is no field on the packaging run named Bottled Age.
What is not the claim
Expected aging duration on fill or Bulk Edit is a cellar plan. Changing it does not rewrite the oak clock.
Pro Tip: Brand-new oak can show 0d. That is a clock that just opened, not "no claim." Blank / — is the no-claim state.
